With modern computer technology, Chiu made a replica and analysed the painting "Along the Qing Ming River" in this book, further leading the readers to appreciate Chinese art and cultural history from different perspectives based on this piece of national treasure housed at the Palace Museum. The book received recognition from the public and the academic community. In 2004, Notes on the "Along the Qing Ming River" was selected by China Times (one of the top daily newspapers in Taiwan) as one of the top ten online books.
This book has been the chief reference for the in-depth display design of the China Pavilion’s exhibit "River of Wisdom—Along the Qing Ming River" in 2010 Shanghai World Expo, China.
