Beyond Chinese Wooden Architecture

Introduction:

“Beyond Chinese Wooden Architecture” (《不只中國木建築》) is a book published by CHIU, Kwong-chiu in 2000 with Chinese architecture as its research proposition. It has been enlisted as a reference book by a number of architecture and design institutions since its publication. In April 2018, Zhonghua Book Company redesigned and republished hardcover edition of the book for readers of Mainland China.

Chinese people made paper out of wood. They engraved characters on wood and of which stencils were made. The entire development history of architecture and craftsmanship was recorded in the space also constructed out of wood – beginning from “home”, the author unveils the enchantment of traditional Chinese architecture.
