Introduction:

Celebrating the Palace Museum's 90th anniversary, "Forbidden City 100" is the first publication project initiated by the “Division of Cultural Research and Development of the Forbidden City”. With the support of CCTV-9 Documentary channel, as well as the sponsorship of The Robert HN Ho Family Foundation, Design and Cultural Studies Workshop has been fully committed to the content’s creation.

Divided into nine volumes, this book intends to explore the universal values of Chinese traditional culture through re-interpreting the architecture and stories of Forbidden City from a modern point of view. Other features, including the creative team’s on-site observation and insights on design and aesthetic appreciation, create a fresh and delicate reading angle for the six-hundred-year-old palace.
