Supported by the Forbidden City Publishing House, the project “We All Live in the Forbidden City” was first carried out in Hong Kong as a pioneer to promote the Forbidden City and the Chinese culture to children and teenagers. Adopting the Forbidden City as the research theme, this project focused on exploring “the modern visual language” and “universal values” of “traditional cultures” for youngsters. After 2 years’ time, We All Live in the Forbidden City Series, which contains nine books and three maps, was published. In the series, Brian Tse and Alice Mak were invited to create the illustrated books The Blessed Bowl and This is the Greatest Place! The Forbidden City and the World of Small Animals on ordinary things and extraordinary palace stories. To implement the above education vision, the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation donated the book series to all the primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
