Chiu Kwong-chiu was appointed Deputy Director of Chinese Culture Research Center, China Academy of Art. Famous scholar, Professor Hang Jian was appointed Director. Adopting design as the means, the Research Center focuses on seeking for the correlation and value between Chinese culture and modern society; achieving the cultural interpretation of traditional Chinese esthetics and modern visual language; exploring the enhancement, transformation and development from “made in China” to “designed in China,” as well as the education significance of traditional Chinese culture and art. The Workshop will work closely with the Research Centre, to realize the rejuvenation of traditional values and will explore continuously the exportation of classical Chinese spirit and its integration into the global culture.
