The exhibition is jointly planned and showcased by Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Dunhuang Academy. Through achievements of digitised protection technology, amalgamated with earthed relics and grotto art spearheaded by multimedia programmed experiences, visitors can enjoy in-depth knowledge of Dunhuang cultural context detailing stories of Buddhist world and the mortal life of civilians.

The exhibition showcases over 100 exhibits including the replica cave of Mogao Cave 285, virtual caves, artefacts and archives, interactive multimedia installations and audio-visual programmes, to offer a unique museum experience that allows visitors to learn about the history and art of the Dunhuang Caves.

The Workshop is commissioned to design the digitised monumental mural, Mount Wutai, in Mogao Cave 61 and an interactive AR multimedia installation for “Donor Portrait of Lady Wang from Taiyuan in Worship”, so to supplement visitors’ better understanding the inner and outer world of the paintings.
